An 11-year-old girl has died and a woman is fighting for life after a crash involving two cars in Moana, a coastal suburb of Adelaide.
The collision happened at about 6.45pm on Tuesday, when a Nissan sedan and a Subaru station wagon crashed on Commercial Road.
Police said the girl, from Christie Downs, was a passenger in the Nissan and died at the scene. The 35-year-old driver, also from Christie Downs, was taken to hospital in a serious condition and remains in a critical state.
The Subaru driver, a 37-year-old man from Seaford Meadows, was taken to hospital with minor injuries but has since been discharged.
The girl is the 81st person to have died on South Australian roads this year, equivalent to one death every three days.
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
