Patrick Clancy is set to give a televised interview on 60 Minutes, after testifying in defence of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, during her murder trial.
The CBS programme released a preview showing members of its team preparing Patrick for the interview. He is then seen sitting down before the teaser cuts to black.
The broadcast was promoted with the caption: “Patrick Clancy. This Sunday. Only on 60 Minutes.”
The interview comes after Lindsay Clancy’s case attracted widespread attention and prompted unsubstantiated online theories accusing Patrick of killing the couple’s three children and framing Lindsay.
Patrick’s lawyer has threatened legal action against people making those claims. Lindsay’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington, has also said people should stop targeting Patrick.
Lindsay has admitted killing the children, while her legal team argued during the trial that she was experiencing a psychosis-fuelled blackout.
The first trial ended in a mistrial, and Lindsay is waiting to learn whether prosecutors will bring charges against her again.
Patrick’s evidence was presented in Lindsay’s favour. At least one juror said his testimony had definitely helped her case.
