Allan Elias marked his Manchester City debut with a superb solo goal as Enzo Maresca’s side swept Norwich City aside 5-0 in the League Cup.
The 22-year-old produced the defining moment of the match shortly after half-time, collecting possession on the left before cutting inside and driving through the Norwich defence.
Elias repeatedly changed direction as he evaded several challenges, switched back onto his left foot and struck a powerful finish into the net to put City 3-0 ahead.

Operating from the left, Elias showed pace, close control and the ability to beat defenders one-on-one. His performance offered an early indication of the technical quality that persuaded Manchester City to sign him during the summer transfer window.
City dominated the League Cup tie from the outset, controlling possession and pressing Norwich high up the pitch. Maresca used the match to give first-team opportunities to academy prospects and summer arrivals.
The young players made the most of their chance, with Floyd Samba also catching the eye with a fine goal as Manchester City completed a convincing 5-0 victory.
