Nearly 180,000 children’s finger light toys sold on Amazon have been recalled in the US because their button cell batteries can be easily accessed and swallowed, creating a risk of serious injury or death.
The recall, issued by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission on 10 September 2026, affects about 179,739 California Cade Electronic Projecting Finger Light Toys. The products contain three button cell batteries and breach mandatory toy safety standards.
The finger lights were sold in boxes of 50 in white, blue, red and green. Packaging is marked “California Cade Electronic” and “Finger Flashlights” on the front.
The CPSC warned that swallowed coin or button batteries can cause internal chemical burns and may be fatal. No injuries or incidents linked to the recalled toys have been reported.
The products were sold through Amazon between March 2015 and July 2026, priced at between $5 and $16. They were supplied by California Cade Electronic, LLC, of Hacienda Heights, California, and manufactured in China.
What consumers should do
Consumers should stop using the finger lights immediately and keep them away from children. Cade California Electronic is offering full refunds and asking customers to dispose of the toys in the bin before sending a photograph of the discarded product to ccecamazonservice@gmail.com.
The CPSC said button cell batteries are hazardous and should be disposed of or recycled in line with local hazardous-waste procedures. The recall is listed under number 26-761.
