A juvenile was fatally shot while playing with a gun inside a home in Norristown, Pennsylvania, authorities said, with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office treating the death as a homicide.
Norristown police were called to a property in the 800 block of Arch Street at about 10.30am on Tuesday, 22 September, after reports of a shooting. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe two juveniles were handling or playing with a firearm when it discharged, striking one of them. The victim’s age and identity have not been officially released.
Another juvenile was questioned in connection with the shooting, according to local reports. Authorities have not said whether that person remains in custody.
No charges had been filed as of Wednesday, and the investigation by Norristown police and Montgomery County detectives remains ongoing.
