Crystal Palace have made progress in their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, with talks reportedly under way over a potential £25 million transfer.
The 22-year-old Sweden international has emerged as a target as Palace seek greater depth and quality in central midfield following their qualification for European football. Fulham are also involved in the race, with both clubs understood to have advanced their interest.
TeamTalk reports that Larsson has been in London holding discussions with the two Premier League sides over a possible move to England. A fee of about £25 million could be enough to persuade Eintracht Frankfurt to sell, although several other clubs are also monitoring the situation. Brentford, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Everton and Hull City have reportedly made enquiries, but Palace and Fulham are currently considered the leading contenders.
Larsson joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Malmö FF in 2023 and quickly established himself in the first-team squad. The German club extended his contract in October 2024, tying him to Frankfurt until 30 June 2029. The midfielder’s ability to operate centrally, retain possession and contribute defensively has made him an attractive option for Palace. He could provide competition and support for Adam Wharton while adding composure to the Eagles’ midfield.
No agreement has been reached at this stage, and Larsson’s next move remains undecided. However, with Palace and Fulham now in direct talks and the player reportedly open to a switch to the Premier League, the transfer race is expected to intensify before the window closes.
