Catherine O’Hara was honoured during the Emmys’ In Memoriam segment, with her former on-screen children Macaulay Culkin, Annie Murphy and Dan Levy paying tribute to the acclaimed actress.
Culkin, who starred alongside O’Hara in the Home Alone films, recalled calling her “mama” and said she had felt like a mother figure to him as well as being a mother to her own children.
Murphy and Levy also spoke about O’Hara’s lasting influence on their lives and the impact of her death.
O’Hara died in January from a pulmonary embolism. She also had rectal cancer at the time.
Her career included two Emmy wins, among them Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Moira Rose in Schitt’s Creek.
She was also nominated last year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in The Studio.
The tribute recognised O’Hara’s enduring legacy across film and television.
