Emily Atack and Dr Alistair Garner are preparing for a lavish wedding celebration in the Spanish hilltop town of Mojácar, following an intimate ceremony in Bedfordshire attended by close family and friends.
The couple are expected to celebrate with around 200 guests as they publicly mark their marriage for a second time. Atack previously shared photographs from the UK ceremony, describing the day as “absolutely perfect”.
The actress, who rose to fame as Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners, has spoken openly about the difficulty of being single and her troubled experiences with relationships before finding lasting love with Garner.
She once said that being on her own could be “miserable a lot of the time”, adding that there were occasions when she had “cried myself to sleep” because of loneliness.
Atack also acknowledged that, despite presenting herself as confident and independent, she could lose that sense of self when she fell in love. “I have mountains and buckets of confidence but no self-esteem,” she said on her podcast, Soaking Up Life With….

Before meeting Garner, Atack had a five-year relationship with model Jack Vacher, which ended in 2018. She later had a reported romance with comedian Seann Walsh, although accounts of their relationship said Walsh was dating Rebecca Humphries at the time and that Atack believed he was single.
Her subsequent relationships included a six-month romance with producer Rob Jowers in 2019, a three-month relationship with tattoo artist and model Charlie Edwards, and a five-month romance with model Jude Taylor.
Atack was also linked to footballer Jack Grealish in 2021, although both denied the reports. The following year, she was said to have shared a kiss with Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice at a Brits party, while a later seven-month relationship with tree surgeon and reality star Liam McGough ended with the pair deciding they were better suited as friends.
It was after her split from McGough that Atack spoke particularly candidly about the emotional strain of single life. She said she could feel “confident and sexy” on her own, but also found loneliness “hard”.
Garner, meanwhile, had been part of Atack’s wider family circle for decades. Her mother’s sister married his father in 1994, meaning Atack and Garner grew up alongside one another but are not blood relatives.
The pair developed romantic feelings in 2023, after years of knowing each other. Atack’s family were said to be delighted when the relationship began.
In June 2024, Atack and Garner welcomed their first child, a son named Barney. They bought a property together around the same time, and Atack has described Garner as her “literal rock”.
She has also praised his support for her career, saying he proudly kept newspaper and magazine articles about her. Reflecting on their relationship, she said: “I am happier than I ever thought I could be.”
Atack previously revealed that the couple discovered she was pregnant during their first holiday together in Italy. She described the news as the “most perfect day” of her life.
She has also spoken warmly about Garner’s role during the birth of their son, which ended in an emergency caesarean after 12 hours of labour. “I couldn’t ask for a better partner,” she said, adding that he was calm throughout the difficult birth.
The couple became engaged in July last year. Atack wore a £2,325 Josephine Scott dress for the Bedfordshire ceremony, which featured long sleeves, lace cuffs and a plunging pleat neckline.
She later announced the marriage on Instagram, writing: “Yesterday we officially got married among close family and friends. It was absolutely perfect.” She added that they were looking forward to doing it all again in Spain.
