A fire broke out on the roof of We Energies’ Valley Power Plant in Milwaukee early on Tuesday, 15 September, with flames reportedly seen at the facility at about 2am.
The plant, on West Canal Street in the Menomonee Valley, is operated by We Energies and supplies electricity as well as steam to parts of downtown Milwaukee.
We Energies said nobody was injured and that the incident did not affect the plant’s operations.
The company has not disclosed what caused the fire or how much damage was sustained. Further details were not immediately available.
