Wisconsin baseball fans will be able to claim up to $8 (£6) back on a Miller Lite after the Milwaukee Brewers begin their first World Series appearance in 44 years.
Molson Coors is offering the rebate to residents aged 21 and over who buy a 16-ounce or larger can, aluminium pint or draught pour of Miller Lite anywhere in Wisconsin on Friday, 23 October, the opening day of the series.
Customers must submit their receipt to the brewer as proof of purchase. The offer is intended to mark the Brewers’ return to Major League Baseball’s championship series for the first time since 1982.
Free Miller brewery tours in Milwaukee
The Miller Brewery in Milwaukee is also opening its doors for free tours on World Series opening day.
The first 120 people to queue at the Miller Brewery Visitor Centre at 4251 West State Street will receive admission to a 75-minute tour, as well as a commemorative Miller Lite Brewers hat.
Regular adult admission costs $20 and includes three beer samples for visitors aged 21 and over. A further 30 fans who miss out on the tour places will still receive a hat, while supplies last.
Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager for the Miller Brewery, said the company wanted to celebrate alongside supporters across the state.
“As a longtime neighbour, supporter and proud beer sponsor of the Milwaukee Brewers, Miller Lite is raising a glass to this historic moment alongside Brewers fans across Wisconsin,” she said. “We can’t think of a better way to toast the Brewers’ incredible run than with beer and tours of the brewery we proudly call home.”
The Brewers secured their place in the World Series by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Milwaukee will host the opening two games at American Family Field against the Tampa Bay Rays.
When do the Brewers play in the World Series?
Game 1 is scheduled for 7pm local time on Friday, 23 October, with Game 2 at the same time on Saturday, 24 October.
The series then moves to Tampa Bay for Games 3 and 4 on 26 and 27 October. A fifth game would be played on 28 October, while Games 6 and 7, if required, are due to return to Milwaukee on 30 and 31 October.
The World Series will be broadcast on FOX and streamed on FOX One.
