A manhunt is under way after a 28-year-old man escaped unharmed when a gunman allegedly opened fire outside his home in Greenvale, Melbourne.
The man had just returned from work and was walking towards his home in Galileo Place at about 5.50pm on Tuesday when a dark-coloured car approached.
Security footage appears to show a passenger leaving the vehicle and running towards him before firing several shots. The man can then be seen dodging the gunfire and running to safety.
A neighbour went outside after the shooting and warned other residents to remain indoors as the gunman fled.
Police believe the Melbourne shooting was a targeted attack and said it was remarkable that the intended victim was not injured. One of the bullets struck a family home at the end of the street.
The incident is understood to be the latest alleged attack involving the 28-year-old. A car belonging to his family was reportedly firebombed in an after-dark incident several weeks ago.
Police are searching for those involved and have appealed for witnesses, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
