Interstate 30 in Arlington, Texas, has reopened after a police chase ended in a fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler early on Wednesday, September 23.
The pursuit began at about 4am in nearby Grand Prairie, with officers initially following the suspect westbound on I-30. The driver then made a U-turn, according to reports.
The chase came to an end in the eastbound lanes near Fielder Road, where the suspect struck the rear corner of an 18-wheeler. The collision triggered a large fire, sending flames across the motorway.
No one was seriously injured, and the suspect was taken into custody. Emergency crews and investigators closed the road while the crash was dealt with before traffic was allowed to resume.
Police have not released the suspect’s name or explained what prompted the chase. Further details about the incident were not immediately available.
