Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 23,677 vehicles in the United States over an electrical fault that could cause a sudden loss of drive power and exterior lighting.
The recall covers selected 2019 to 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover, Discovery Sport, Defender, Range Rover Velar and Discovery models, along with Jaguar F-Pace and E-Pace vehicles built between 2021 and 2024.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the affected vehicles are fitted with a DC-DC converter that can malfunction during periods of high electrical demand. A software error may also stop the component working when the vehicle is started.
The converter transfers power from the high-voltage battery system to the conventional 12-volt battery, which supplies equipment including the lights and other electrical systems. If it fails, the 12-volt battery may no longer charge, potentially leading to a complete loss of propulsion and exterior lighting.

Jaguar Land Rover has received 393 claims and field reports relating to the fault in the US. No accidents, injuries or fires have been reported.
Dealers will carry out a software update free of charge. The remedy will introduce a “limp-home” mode designed to warn drivers if the DC-DC converter stops operating.
Interim letters warning owners about the safety risk are due to be mailed on November 13, 2026. Further correspondence will be sent when the final repair is available.
Owners can check whether their vehicle is affected by searching its vehicle identification number through the NHTSA recall system or by contacting an authorised Jaguar or Land Rover dealer.
