Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has called at the United Nations for a ceasefire and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces, saying his country must not become an arena for conflicts involving others.
Mr Salam said Lebanon would not be “an arena for the conflicts of others” or a bargaining chip.
He also called for all weapons in Lebanon to be held by the Lebanese state, as part of his appeal for the country’s sovereignty and an end to the conflict.
