Lidl US is recalling a batch of Gelatelli Coffee and Vanilla Gelato with Coffee Sauce and Cookie Pieces after routine testing detected possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The one-pint tubs were sold at Lidl stores across Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia between July 19 and October 15, 2026.
The affected product has a UPC of 4 0564897 22458, lot number 085261 and a best-before date of March 26, 2028. The details are printed on the bottom of the container, which has clear plastic packaging and a brown lid.
Lidl said the recall was launched after a laboratory sample tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses had been reported in connection with the product as of the recall notice issued by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Listeria infection can cause high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhoea. It can be particularly serious for young children, older or frail people and those with weakened immune systems, while infection during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
Customers who have bought the affected gelato should not eat it. They should throw it away or return it to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund; a receipt is not required.
Anyone with questions can contact the Lidl US customer care hotline on 844-747-5435 from Monday to Saturday, between 8am and 8pm Eastern Time.
