Liverpool and Arsenal are considering a January move for Brentford winger Kevin Schade after his strong start to the season, although the west London club are reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players.
The 24-year-old Germany international has scored three goals in six league appearances and has helped Brentford remain unbeaten. His pace, strength and ability to play in several attacking positions have increased his appeal to clubs seeking additional forward options.
Liverpool and Arsenal face £60m Kevin Schade asking price
Brentford are understood to want more than £60 million for Schade, making any potential mid-season deal a substantial investment. The club have also begun discussions over a new contract, with the winger currently under contract until the summer of 2028.
A new agreement would reinforce Brentford’s position as they seek to keep Schade beyond January. The Bees have little incentive to sell a prominent attacker during the campaign, particularly with the player’s current form attracting interest from leading Premier League sides.
Liverpool could view Schade’s ability to operate on either flank as a way to add flexibility to their attack. His direct style and physical approach would also offer another option in the final third.
Arsenal have monitored the forward since the previous transfer window, with Mikel Arteta understood to regard his pace and ability to unsettle defenders as valuable qualities.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Schade, potentially creating a competitive race should Brentford agree to consider offers.
Liverpool and Arsenal may therefore find that a summer transfer is more realistic than a January move unless negotiations over Schade’s future take an unexpected turn.
