A 47-year-old man has been charged with murder after an elderly woman was allegedly stabbed to death in Bondi, Sydney.
New South Wales Police were called to a unit on Chambers Avenue, in the city’s eastern suburbs, at about 5.15pm on Saturday.
The woman, who was in her 90s, was found suffering significant injuries. She was treated at the scene but died.
The man, who was known to the woman, was arrested at the property and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
Police established a crime scene and began an investigation before charging him with murder, categorised as domestic violence.
He was refused bail and was due to appear before a bail court on Sunday.
