Nick Dal Santo’s future as St Kilda AFLW coach has come under serious scrutiny after the club’s winless start to the season, with calls for the former Saints star to leave his position.
St Kilda have yet to record a victory, while Saturday’s defeat by the Bulldogs produced just one behind across the entire match — a record performance for the wrong reasons.
Writing about the club’s plight, Hannah Kennelly argued that St Kilda must make several bold decisions if they are to build a successful AFLW programme, beginning with a change in senior coach.
She said Dal Santo’s position had become untenable despite the coach defending himself and his team after the loss. Dal Santo has also retained the support of his players, but Kennelly believes the evidence points to the need for change now.
