The Mexican Navy tall ship Cuauhtémoc is making a four-day goodwill visit to San Francisco, where it is expected to pass beneath the Golden Gate Bridge before berthing at Piers 15–17 on The Embarcadero.
The three-masted training vessel is due to arrive on Wednesday, 23 September, after sailing from Acapulco as part of a 92-day North Pacific cruise. Its route has included Honolulu, Seward in Alaska and Victoria in Canada, with further stops planned in San Diego. The Cuauhtémoc, officially designated ARM Cuauhtémoc BE-01, is carrying 144 naval cadets and 137 crew members. The visit is intended to promote maritime friendship and goodwill between Mexico and the communities it visits. Mexican Navy tall ship open to San Francisco visitors
Members of the public will be able to tour the ship at Piers 15–17, near the Exploratorium, from noon until 3.30pm on Wednesday.
It will then be open from 10am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday, with additional visiting hours on Thursday from 10am until noon and from 4pm until 8pm.
