Mia Goth has filed for divorce from Shia LaBeouf nearly 10 years after the actors married. The petition, filed in Los Angeles County on 6 October, cites irreconcilable differences and gives 28 July 2025 as the date of their separation.
Goth is seeking primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s four-year-old daughter, Isabel, with visitation rights for LaBeouf. She has also asked the court to deny spousal support to both parties.
The pair met while filming Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012 and made their red-carpet debut at the London premiere of LaBeouf’s film Fury.
They married in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2016, although the marriage was reportedly not legally binding at the time. LaBeouf nevertheless referred to Goth as his “wife”.
In September 2018, a representative confirmed that they were separating. “The separation is amicable and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private,” the representative said at the time.
Goth and LaBeouf later reunited in 2020 and welcomed Isabel in 2022. A source said in February that their relationship “has always been complicated”, adding that they had not been getting along and had experienced “a lot of drama last year”.
Shia LaBeouf sentenced to probation
The divorce filing comes after LaBeouf was sentenced to probation in June, having pleaded guilty to punching three people outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
Video of the 17 February incident showed LaBeouf, shirtless, outside a bar, where he shoved one person to the ground and hit another in the face, according to a New Orleans police report. He pleaded guilty to three counts of simple battery.
