Milwaukee is facing a hot and humid Thursday, with areas of patchy to dense fog in the morning followed by showers and thunderstorms that could become strong or severe later in the day.
Temperatures are expected to reach 88F (31C), while the heat index climbs into the 90s. Storms are most likely during the afternoon and evening, with conditions remaining unsettled overnight and a low of around 70F (21C).
The National Weather Service is forecasting the greatest risk of rain and thunderstorms on Thursday night, with rainfall totals of up to three-quarters of an inch possible in the Milwaukee area. Some storms may continue into Friday morning.

Friday will bring partly sunny skies, although morning rain and thunderstorms remain possible. The temperature should reach about 86F (30C), before the focus shifts to a prolonged period of muggy weather across southern Wisconsin.
A frontal boundary is expected to remain across the region through the weekend, allowing daily chances of showers and thunderstorms. Saturday’s high is forecast at 80F (27C), followed by 79F (26C) on Sunday.
Partly sunny conditions are expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday, with highs near 80F (27C) and 81F (27C) respectively. Rain and thunderstorms will remain possible, although a change in the jet stream next week should bring a break from the humidity.
