Hayden Panettiere’s family, friends and former co-stars gathered at Malibu Pacific Church for a celebration of life attended by about 150 people.
Among those paying their respects were Connie Britton, Beverly D’Angelo, Evan Ross, Cameron Richardson, Storm Santos and Caroline D’Amore.
Panettiere’s former Nashville co-star Jonathan Jackson was also present. Photographs from the memorial show him in tears as Sam Palladio, another cast member, comforted him.
Ruby Rose attended after speaking publicly about losing her “best friend” the previous week.
Panettiere’s father, Skip, was said to have worn a suit with Hawaiian-style lei flowers around his neck.
Nashville alumni Britton and Charles Esten delivered speeches during the service. Esten also performed one of Panettiere’s songs from the television series with a band.
The memorial was described by sources as “beautiful”. Panettiere died on 16 August after she was found unresponsive inside an Airbnb in Greenville, South Carolina.
Her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was asleep when his brother Zach arrived and discovered her. He called 911, while first responders were unable to revive her.
Law enforcement sources believe Panettiere died after taking a black-market oxycodone pill allegedly laced with fentanyl. An investigation has focused on the source of the drugs, while the DEA searched her Los Angeles home nine days after her death.
