One man has died and two others have been injured after a gunfight erupted outside a home in Bullhead City, Arizona, with police searching for three suspects who fled the scene.
Officers were called to the 1800 block of Coral Isle Drive shortly before 7pm on Thursday, 24 September, following reports of multiple shots being fired. Three men were found with gunshot wounds outside a residence.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The two survivors were taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, before one was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas in a critical condition, according to Bullhead City Police Department.
Residents described hearing a sustained exchange of gunfire in the residential neighbourhood. One witness said muzzle flashes could be seen from a window and estimated that as many as 15 rounds had been fired, likening the scene to an “Old West shootout”.
Police have not confirmed the number of shots fired or released details about the identities of the victims or suspects. The three suspects are believed to have escaped from the area after the shooting.
Emergency vehicles and homicide detectives remained at the property as investigators examined the scene and nearby vehicles.
“The area remains an active crime scene and the investigation is ongoing,” Emily Fromelt, a public information officer for Bullhead City Police, said.
The motive for the shooting has not been established. No arrests had been announced as of Friday morning.
