Patrick Clancy has said he believes he did the “best” he could during his marriage to Lindsay Clancy, while acknowledging that he lives every day with the fact that she killed their three children.
In a preview of his interview with 60 Minutes, due to air on Sunday, Mr Clancy said: “I think I did the best I could with what I had at the time. And I live with the outcome. I live with it every day. But I think I did the best I could.”
Several clips released ahead of the interview have shown him discussing life after the deaths of Cora, Dawson and Callan.
In one extract, Mr Clancy revealed that he still communicates with his children despite their deaths.
The case has also been surrounded by conspiracy theories alleging that Mr Clancy was responsible for the killings and framed his ex-wife. Those claims were not supported by any evidence in the material released.
Lindsay Clancy has confessed to the killings and made a suicide attempt, while her legal team has said she committed the acts during a psychotic episode.
