Alan Ritchson has suggested that a planned season of Reacher centred on a battle against white supremacists was scrapped after someone was re-elected as US president.
Ritchson, 43, plays the lead character in the Prime Video series, with each season based on a book by Lee Child. Responding to a fan on Threads, he described the story as his favourite in the series.
The fan had written that they were disappointed the show had not adapted the novel in which Reacher “kills his way through a white supremacist militia camp”. Ritchson replied: “My favorite book. Fun fact: I had it approved until someone got re-elected.”
The book referred to may be Die Trying, although Ritchson did not name it directly. He also did not identify the politician he was referring to.
Fans have interpreted the remark as a reference to Donald Trump, but Ritchson’s comment did not mention him by name.

Ritchson has spoken critically about Trump in the past, including comments concerning the Epstein files.
“That bitch has the keys to the nuclear codes,” he said. “He’s like all up into 13 year olds. Like, dude, what? Go to jail.”
