Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper were pictured filming the 1960s-set Ocean’s Eleven prequel on the French Riviera, with the pair joining the production on a beach near Villefranche-sur-Mer.
Robbie, 36, wore a denim-look halterneck bikini top with matching shorts as she emerged from the sea and walked towards the waiting crew. Cooper, 51, was seen shirtless in dark red and grey tartan shorts, completing his look with a blue sun hat.
The film is expected to follow the parents of Danny Ocean, played by Robbie and Cooper, against the backdrop of the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
The latest scenes came after the co-stars filmed a romantic moment on a hotel balcony over the weekend. Cooper was seen leaning in to kiss Robbie, who wore a white and turquoise midi dress with a hairstyle inspired by the 1960s.
Tourists who witnessed the balcony scene said the production had transformed the town. One said: “We were staying in an apartment; we popped out onto the balcony and saw them.
“The whole town has been transformed back to the 1960s. They are doing a lot of the filming in the south of France.
“It was rather strange to see them; suddenly I looked out, and they appeared on the balcony snogging.”
Robbie has been married to film producer Tom Ackerley since 2016 and they have a two-year-old daughter. Cooper is in a relationship with supermodel Gigi Hadid.
Monica Barbaro, Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Jack Holden, Lauren Ridloff, Omar Sy, Wagner Moura and Josh Gad have also been attached to the project.
Robbie has been linked to the production since 2022, when it was reported that her Barbie co-star Ryan Gosling would also be involved. It is unclear whether he remains part of the film.
Producer Josey McNamara previously said the team was “just trying to do right by the franchise” and that he was excited for audiences to see the film when it was ready.
The Ocean’s series began with the 2001 film starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon, followed by Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. Ocean’s Eight, a female-focused spin-off featuring Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway, was released in 2018.
The films were inspired by the 1960 movie of the same name, which starred Rat Pack performers Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin.
