Thousands of people gathered in San Francisco’s Sunset neighbourhood on Friday evening for an Autumn Moon Festival night market featuring live entertainment, food and games.
Irving Street was transformed into a busy public celebration between 20th and 25th avenues, with residents and visitors taking part in the free, all-ages event.
The market included food vendors, community stalls, local businesses and artisan makers, alongside cultural performances, music and interactive activities. Lanterns and mooncakes formed part of the festival’s autumn theme.
The event was organised by the Sunset Chinese Cultural District and presented by Sunset Mercantile, Wah Mei, Into The Streets and ASIAN Inc.
Organisers described the festival as an opportunity for friends and families to come together while supporting businesses in the Sunset District.
The night market ran from 5pm to 10pm, with public transport recommended because of limited street parking and the large crowd expected in the area.
