Six workers were injured during the post-concert load-out at Ford Field in Detroit, shortly after Ed Sheeran performed there on Saturday 29 August.
The Detroit Fire Department was called to the stadium at about 11pm following reports of an accident, according to a department spokesperson.
The incident took place in the venue’s vehicle tunnel and involved six workers, including a member of the Ford Field team. Firefighters provided triage support because of the number of people hurt.
All six workers were taken to hospitals in the area. Officials said two were in a serious condition and four were stable when they were transported, although none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
Ed Sheeran’s Detroit show was part of his Loop Tour, with the concert listed by Ford Field as taking place on Saturday evening.
Ford Field said it had launched a full review and was co-operating with the relevant authorities and the production partners involved in the event.
“Out of respect for the people involved and the integrity of that review, we will not speculate on the cause,” a spokesperson said. “We are grateful to the Detroit Fire Department and EMS for their rapid response.”
The cause of the accident has not been disclosed.
