The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art has opened in Los Angeles, drawing Harrison Ford, Samuel L. Jackson, Oprah, Doja Cat and other celebrities to its grand opening.
The museum sits on 11 acres of parkland and hosted its first major night of celebrations on Saturday, with guests gathering to mark the launch of George Lucas’s project.
Among those attending were Ford and his wife, Calista Flockhart. The actor, who played Han Solo in five Star Wars films, was seen in conversation with Lucas during the event.
Speeches by Oprah and Jackson focused on the importance of art and its ability to connect people. The evening also featured a drone display incorporating some of Lucas’s most recognisable characters.
Doja Cat was another high-profile guest, appearing in a backless gown before providing vocals during the Hollywood celebration.
Footage from the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening showed the stars arriving and taking part in the night’s performances and events.
