A death investigation has been launched in Tampa after a Hillsborough County sheriff’s deputy found an unresponsive woman beside a road on Tuesday morning.
The deputy spotted the adult woman near the junction of Sligh Avenue and 78th Street at about 7.39am on 22 September. Deputies and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews attended and confirmed that she had died.
Authorities said there were no visible signs of injury. The woman’s identity has not been released and investigators have not disclosed how she died.
No suspects have been named and the sheriff’s office has not said whether it is treating the death as suspicious.
