Glastonbury 2027 tickets sold out within 42 minutes of going on sale, after hundreds of thousands of fans rushed to secure places at next year’s festival.
The tickets were released at 9am on Sunday, but some hopefuls received messages confirming the event was sold out by 9.42am. The festival will take place from June 23 to 27.
The sale followed the introduction of a new queuing system intended to make the process fairer. Each registered attendee was given one place in the queue after completing a CAPTCHA test and entering a unique registration number.
The changes were designed to prevent fans from joining the queue on multiple devices or using several open browser tabs to improve their chances of buying tickets.
See Tickets said: “Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2027 are now SOLD OUT. Confirmation emails are going out now. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets this morning and sorry to those who missed out.”
However, the new system prompted frustration among thousands of unsuccessful applicants, with some questioning how places in the queue had been allocated.
One fan wrote on X: “I mean it’s great tickets are being sold but there’s needs to be some transparency too. Did everything asked. Got in the waiting room before 08:50. Stuck on 2 bars How are the queue places allocated. Random? First come first served. All cloak and dagger.”
Another said: “We didn’t get Glastonbury festival tickets. Absolutely gutted. But as a consolation prize, we’ve just booked Boomtown tickets which we are absolutely stoked about. Did anyone else get lucky?”
Other disappointed fans described being unable to attend after trying for years. One wrote: “The dreaded year has arrived where I didn’t get Glastonbury tickets. I’m in a period of mourning do not speak to me.”
Another said: “Didn’t get Glastonbury tickets, I’m so upset,” while a further fan wrote: “Once again no tickets, I have been trying to get tickets most of my life which is a very long time.”
Those who secured tickets celebrated online, with one fan posting: “Can’t believe I’m going back to GLASTONBURY NEXT YEAR.” Another wrote: “Glastonbury 2027! I can’t wait to be back on that farm.”
A first-time attendee said they had secured tickets for their first festival, adding: “Quite the flex if I do say so myself.” One Australian fan also said the tickets were “worth the trip from Australia for my fav place in the world.”
Harry Styles has been linked with a possible headline performance at the festival after announcing an extension to his Together, Together tour into 2027.
The singer’s new dates include shows in the United States and Canada through the end of May, followed by a gap of almost a month before a Berlin performance in early July. Olivia Dean was also reported to have declined the chance to headline in 2027 while she concentrates on writing new music.
Other acts rumoured to appear on the Pyramid Stage include Olivia Rodrigo, The 1975, Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Elton John and Paul McCartney.
