Two people have been killed in a small plane crash near Hesperia Airport in California’s Inland Empire, authorities said.
The aircraft came down near Summit Valley Road and Maple Avenue at about 10am on Thursday, September 24, San Bernardino County officials said. The crash site was around 2.5 miles south-west of the airport.

Witnesses reportedly saw the single-engined aircraft spiralling from the sky before it crashed, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities had not been released as the investigation remained in its early stages.
The Hesperia Police Department said officers and deputies were working at the scene and asked members of the public to keep away while the investigation was carried out. Summit Valley Road remained open to traffic.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are expected to investigate.
