Two men have died following an Isanti County crash involving a pickup truck and a lorry in Maple Ridge Township, Minnesota.
Emergency services were called shortly after noon on Monday, 5 October, to the junction of 389th Avenue Northwest and Palm Street Northwest, where the vehicles had collided.
A man travelling as a passenger in the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver also died after suffering critical injuries; emergency responders attempted life-saving measures before he was pronounced dead by medical staff.
The pickup driver was injured and taken to hospital for treatment. A Braham police officer was among the first to arrive at the scene.
Witnesses told investigators that the pickup was travelling south on Palm Street Northwest when it failed to stop at a stop sign. It then struck the lorry, which was travelling east on 389th Avenue Northwest, in a side-impact collision.
The identities of the two men who died have not been released. The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office said the crash remained under investigation.
Authorities have not said whether any arrests are expected.
