Two motorcyclists from Redbank Plains have died in separate crashes in Queensland within hours of one another.
A 71-year-old woman was killed on Friday afternoon when her Honda CMX500A motorcycle collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander at Greenbank, south-west of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to the Centenary Highway shortly after 1.30pm. The rider suffered critical injuries and died at the scene, while the four people in the Mitsubishi, including women aged 41 and 20 and a 14-year-old girl, were not physically injured.
Later that night, a 43-year-old Redbank Plains man lost control of his Harley-Davidson on Augusta Parkway in Brookwater.
The crash happened near the roundabout at Leon Capra Drive at about 11.50pm. The rider was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries but later died.
Police are investigating the circumstances of both fatal incidents, with the Forensic Crash Unit examining the crash sites.
Witnesses, particularly anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, are being asked to come forward with information that could assist the investigations.
