US marshals have launched a multistate manhunt for Alex Rosado Lopez, a construction worker accused of child sex offences in Georgia and Oregon who allegedly fled after posting a $10,000 bond in Wisconsin.
The Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to his arrest. Investigators believe Lopez remains somewhere in the United States, but have not established his current whereabouts.
Accusations in Georgia and Oregon
Authorities say the allegations against Lopez date back to 2019, when he was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Coweta County, Georgia.
Warrants issued in 2021 charge him with two counts of rape and two counts of aggravated sodomy. Deputies later tracked him to Oregon, where investigators accused him of two further counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery involving a child.
Lopez subsequently surfaced in Wisconsin and was arrested on multiple charges relating to the possession of child sexual abuse material, according to investigators.
Lopez allegedly fled after posting bond
Despite the outstanding warrants in Georgia and Oregon, a Wisconsin judge granted Lopez a $10,000 cash bond, officials said.
Marshals allege that he left shortly after posting bail and went into hiding. Investigators say he uses several aliases and has previously worked in construction-related jobs.
The accusations have not been tested in court, and Lopez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
