Washington DC is set for a sunny and warm Wednesday, with temperatures expected to reach about 86F (30C) after a cool start and relatively low humidity.
Early morning conditions may feel autumnal enough for an extra layer, but the temperature will rise steadily through the day as high pressure keeps the region dry. Light winds are expected to become southerly during the afternoon.
The National Weather Service forecast puts Thursday’s high at around 89F (32C), with increasing humidity bringing a more summery feel back to the capital and surrounding parts of Maryland and Virginia.
There is a chance of showers on Thursday morning, followed by a greater risk of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service currently gives a 30 per cent chance of rain for the day, while the wider Washington outlook puts the risk closer to 50 per cent.
Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny and slightly cooler, with a high near 86F (30C). Clouds are expected to increase over the weekend, with another chance of showers and thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon and evening.
