Match of the Day pundit Ellen White described Bruno Fernandes as “unbelievable” after the Manchester United midfielder’s hat-trick inspired a 5-2 comeback victory over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
United fell behind when Leif Davis gave Ipswich an early lead, but Fernandes levelled shortly before half-time to settle an initially uneasy home crowd.
The Portugal international then put Manchester United ahead from the penalty spot after the interval before completing his hat-trick with a third finish in a decisive spell for the hosts.
Jacob Greaves’ own goal extended United’s advantage, while Bryan Mbeumo added a fifth. Ipswich scored a late consolation through Chuba Akpom.
The result gave Michael Carrick’s side their first Premier League win of the season after they had been beaten by Hull City on the opening weekend.
