A teenage girl has died following a three-vehicle collision on a Buckinghamshire road on Friday night, with three young people now in custody over her death.
Thames Valley Police said the crash took place on the A355 at approximately 9.20pm, involving a white Toyota Yaris, a grey Toyota Hilux, and a motorbike. The 15-year-old girl was a passenger on the motorbike at the time of the collision.
Three arrests have since been made. The 16-year-old boy who was riding the motorbike carrying the girl has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A further two teenagers — a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from High Wycombe — who were travelling on a separate motorbike involved in the collision have also been arrested on the same suspicion.
A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, as a police vehicle was present in the area at the time. Thames Valley Police confirmed the vehicle was travelling on the opposite carriageway and was not responding to an emergency call with blue lights activated.
Lead investigating officer Oliver Cahill-Smith extended his condolences to the family of the deceased girl and appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. He also asked drivers who had been in the area prior to the crash to check their dashcam footage, as recordings could assist the ongoing investigation.
