A pregnant woman was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound at a home in Vail, Arizona, after deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Her husband was taken into custody, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the property near Houghton and Sahuarita roads at about 6.30pm on Friday, October 9. They detained 49-year-old Joseph Clark as he was leaving the home.
Inside, they found 39-year-old Noelle Clark dead. She was pregnant at the time, the sheriff’s office said.
Two children, aged two and five, were also found inside the house. Neither was injured and both were later placed in the custody of the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released. Investigators have not publicly said whether Joseph Clark has been charged, and the case remains active.
Investigation continues in Vail
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed a possible motive or provided further details about the domestic disturbance that preceded the discovery.
Authorities have also not released information about the weapon allegedly involved. The investigation is continuing.
