The Milwaukee Brewers celebrated a historic National League Championship Series triumph after completing a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers and booking their place in the World Series.
Milwaukee sealed the pennant with a 6-4 comeback victory at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, overturning an early four-run deficit to end the Dodgers’ bid for a third consecutive World Series title.
Garrett Mitchell’s sixth-inning home run put the Brewers ahead for the first time, while pitcher JoJo Romero earned the win after striking out Max Muncy to escape a crucial sixth-inning threat.
Romero worked two innings in the decisive game before Aaron Ashby closed out the victory, prompting jubilant scenes in the Milwaukee clubhouse.
Brewers general manager Matt Arnold and Romero spoke to FOX6’s Brandon Cruz amid the celebrations as the team marked its first World Series appearance since 1982.
Jake Bauers was named the NLCS Most Valuable Player after driving in six runs across the four-game series. He played a key role in the comeback win with a two-run double and a bases-loaded walk.
The Brewers will now prepare for the World Series, with Game One scheduled for October 23.
