Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Granada winger Owen Emeka, with the 17-year-old regarded as one of the Spanish side’s most promising young players.
Newcastle United and Everton are also reportedly tracking the teenager, who is believed to have a €15 million release clause. That figure could make Emeka an attractive option for clubs looking to secure a highly rated prospect at a relatively modest cost.
Emeka has already made his senior debut for Granada, and the club will hope to retain him as he develops towards a regular first-team role.
Arsenal’s interest in young talent
The potential move would fit Arsenal’s focus on building for the future. Mikel Arteta’s squad already includes promising homegrown players such as Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman.
However, Arsenal missed out on Jeremy Monga during the summer, with the English teenager choosing to join Manchester City instead.
The club have also been looking to improve their record of developing and trading young players. Their record sale is reported to be the £60 million transfer of Gabriel Martinelli this summer.
Emeka could therefore represent an opportunity for Arsenal to sign a young player for a comparatively low fee, either with the aim of integrating him into the first team or developing his value for the future.
