Declan Rice is close to signing a new Arsenal contract that would significantly increase his wages, with the England midfielder expected to remain at the club beyond his current deal, which runs until the summer of 2028.
Rice has been a key performer since joining Arsenal from West Ham United in the summer of 2023. Reports indicate that negotiations have progressed positively and an agreement is now close.
Declan Rice set for substantial Arsenal pay rise
The proposed new Arsenal contract is expected to take Rice’s salary from around £240,000 a week to approximately £350,000, putting him in line with Bukayo Saka’s reported earnings.
The increase would follow an outstanding campaign for the 27-year-old, who featured in 55 matches in all competitions during Arsenal’s 2025/26 season.
Arsenal won their first Premier League title in 22 years during that campaign and reached only the second Champions League final in the club’s history.
Rice’s new agreement would provide further continuity for the north London club after manager Mikel Arteta also committed his future to Arsenal.
Arsenal paid £105 million for Rice, but his performances have led many to regard the deal as strong value, particularly as other players including Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernandez and Morgan Rogers have since moved for higher fees.
His arrival was viewed as a major statement by Arsenal, who secured one of the Premier League’s leading midfielders ahead of Manchester City. Alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya, Rice is regarded as one of the signings who have helped the club progress under Arteta.
