Atlanta police officers were shot while responding to a mental health call in south-east Atlanta on Sunday, August 30, authorities said.
Officers were sent to the area of the 3500 block of Forest Park Road SE. They came under fire after arriving at the scene, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
The injured officers were alert, conscious and breathing, police said. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
The department has not released the officers’ names or confirmed exactly how many were involved.
Police have also not said whether a suspect has been arrested or provided details about what led to the shooting. The investigation remains under way.
