Buffalo Bills captain Bradley Chubb was punched in the face by Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson after the teams’ overtime game on Monday night.
Video showed Chubb standing near midfield alongside players from both sides after Buffalo’s 37-34 victory when Jackson approached him. The two exchanged words before Jackson struck Chubb, prompting others to intervene and separate them.
Chubb, an outside linebacker, later told the California Post that he had allowed the other player to take a swing at him and had “chilled”. He did not identify Jackson, saying the cameras would ultimately reveal who was responsible.
Despite the altercation, Chubb said he was ready to play in next week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. “You see I’m smiling,” he said.
