An explosion has forced Venezuela’s second-largest oil refinery to suspend operations after a fire broke out at the Cardon facility in Punto Fijo, Falcón state.
The fire reportedly started in a gas line, according to Reuters. No further details about the incident were provided.
Cardon can process up to 300,000 barrels of oil a day when operating.
