Police are investigating after a body was discovered partially submerged in a stock dip on a remote farm at Terragon, south of Murwillumbah in New South Wales.
The discovery was made at a property on Kyogle Road at about 11.20am on Monday. Terragon is around 20km south of Murwillumbah and approximately an hour south-west of the Gold Coast.
Officers from the Tweed/Byron Police District remained at the stockyard on Tuesday as investigations continued and arrangements were made for the body to be removed.
Police said the sex of the deceased had not been established because the scene had been preserved for specialist forensic examination.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place in the coming days to determine the person’s identity and cause of death.
