Police are searching for the mother of a newborn boy whose body was found inside a rubbish bin in Auburn, south-west Sydney.
Officers were called to Harrow Road at about 11.20am on Monday, August 31, after receiving reports that the infant had been discovered.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the baby’s death is under way. Police have not yet confirmed how long the child had been in the bin or his precise age.
New South Wales Police said they had serious concerns for the welfare of the mother and urged her to attend the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
