Donnie Wahlberg has said he is safe after a private jet carrying him and members of his team went off the runway and hit a perimeter fence at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
The incident happened on Sunday morning as the aircraft was taking off, according to officials. Nobody was injured, while investigators work to establish what went wrong.
In an Instagram video, the actor and singer said the plane had “ran out of runway” and “didn’t get up in the air”. He said the pilots “saved our lives” and became emotional as he reassured viewers that he was safe.
Wahlberg said the aircraft avoided several fences, trucks, dumpsters and heavy equipment at a nearby construction site before striking the final fence. “God covered us,” he said.
He ended the video by telling people not to worry and urging them to “praise God”.
Wahlberg had been in Las Vegas completing the New Kids on the Block residency, The Right Stuff, with Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre, Jonathan Knight and Jordan Knight.
The band performed its final show on Saturday night, marking the 40th performance of the residency.
