Firefighters battled a major blaze at an apparently vacant apartment building in DeKalb County, Georgia, late on Wednesday night, with flames spreading across the second and third floors of a 10-unit block.
Crews were called to the Park at Glenwood apartments at 205 High Court Place, near Glenwood Road, shortly after 8.15pm. Firefighters arrived within about five minutes to find the building heavily involved in fire from the front through to the rear.
Assistant Chief Kenneth McKinney, of DeKalb County Fire Rescue, said the property had been boarded up and appeared to be unoccupied. There were no reports of anyone living inside the building.
Nine emergency crews attended, including three engine companies and three ladder trucks. Firefighters used defensive tactics as part of the roof collapsed during the operation.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire has not been established. DeKalb County Fire Rescue said the incident remains under investigation.
