A former Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been arrested in Texas and charged with attempted sexual assault and official oppression over allegations that he used his position to pursue women while in uniform.
Dohnya Dozier, 42, was arrested on Thursday, October 1, according to court records. His bond was set at $60,000, with his next court appearance scheduled for Monday, October 5.
Prosecutors allege that Dozier threatened a woman with arrest unless she performed sexual acts on him while he was on duty in April 2025. Court documents state that he then drove her to a hotel, where he began to undo his belt before the encounter ended.
The records also say Dozier admitted during his arrest to having sexual encounters with about 12 women he met while wearing his uniform. The documents do not provide further details about those alleged encounters.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Dozier was dismissed in March 2026 after an internal affairs investigation found that he had breached department policy. A criminal investigation was continuing at the time.
Dozier has not been convicted, and the allegations against him have not been proven in court.
